The 4th

We tried to keep the 4th of July this year low key since we were planning a big party for the next day (more to come in the next post).  Living so close to Center Street meant that walking to the Provo parade was easy and luckily, we found a spot with shade.  It was perfect except for one minor problem: Katelyn wasn't feeling very well.  Heather had a fever a few days before and now it was Katelyn's turn.  We tried to keep her cool and hydrated but that was an ongoing battle with how HOT it was.
After the parade we came home for lunch and some much needed naps.  We then attended a BBQ with some of Paul's Army buddies where they had inflatable pools and a water slide.  Katelyn seemed to be feeling better and they both enjoyed themselves.

Later that evening we ventured down to the Provo festival where we feasted on scones (Tiger Paws) and snow cones.  We made sure to grab a bag of kettle corn, too.

We put the kids to bed and later were able to watch the Stadium of Fire fireworks from our front porch. We then attempted to sleep amid all the noise from fireworks the neighbors were settling off into the wee hours of the night.  Thankfully, the kids slept through most of them.
