April: Part 1

In April we continued to enjoy the blissful life of having daddy home.  We went on a few adventures, played hard, and started a few house projects.

For one of our projects we needed to pick something up from the mall so of course the kids had to ride the carousel.  Zac wasn't too sure about it, but the girls sure loved it.

The girls begged for a sleepover, so finally, we caved.  Their idea of a sleepover consisted of blowing up the air mattress and sleeping in the living room.  Pretty simple, so we couldn't complain.
The girls also begged for a bike ride, so we loaded the trailer and Katelyn rode her bike.  It was nice having everyone on wheels.  Zac begged for things, too, but he was much easier to please.  Books on the floor and a push in the swing were good for him.  Oh, and Home Depot became our new favorite place to shop.  Haha.

We spent a day at the (over-priced) Living Aquarium.  Zac loved the big fish and kept pointing to the tanks as they swam in front of him.

We discovered on this trip that Katelyn and Heather have learned how to pose.  Before I would just say, "Stand there and smile for me."  But out of nowhere, Heather laid down on this blue frog and said something like, "Mom, take my picture.  I'm going to pose."And of course Katelyn followed suit.  Who's children are these?

Camping was also on the list of adventures.  We took the kids on an overnighter to the Spanish Oaks Reservoir.  We walked the reservoir and hiked in the mountains.

We sat around the campfire while roasting hot dogs and smores.  Zac was a little wild man and couldn't comprehend that fires are hot.  Needless to say, mom and dad couldn't sit for too long before needing to yank him away from the fire pit.  

Camping was perfect if you don't count the neighbors to the right who blasted music from 10:30pm-12:30am nor the neighbors to the left who kept having cars arrive between 1:00am and 2:00am and then of course everyone had to talk to the newcomers.  But, despite the lack of sleep, we were kind, and since our kids wake up with the sun, well, our noisy neighbors received a little karma.

I just love these little faces though and have enjoyed all our adventures thus far.  I can't believe how fast they are growing and all the new things they are accomplishing.  While camping, the girls had to show off some skills, so we'll end with this hammed up video:
